    Description

    In very good condition. This is a Top-Quality CD of 1,813 Santa Fe Railway train order images, covering the entire Eastern Division of the Santa Fe, essentially including all lines between Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri to Emporia, Kansas, but also reaching to St. Joseph, Topeka, Ottawa, Chanute, Tulsa and Wellington. This CD also includes all branch lines coming off the 4 main districts. Included are 4 station lists, one for each of the numbered districts, showing each location and the number of orders copied at that location. Branch lines are not set out separately.
    Also included is a timetable compendium of 9 different employee timetables, totaling 159 images between them. These timetables are:
    ATSF Eastern Div. ETT #75  6-2-1946  15 pages;
    ATSF Eastern Div. ETT #13  8-26-1962  16 pages;
    ATSF Eastern Div. #16  8-16-1965  18 pages;
    ATSF Eastern Div. #17  4-24-1966  18 pages;
    ATSF Eastern Div. #18  6-15-1968  19 pahes;
    ATSF Eastern Div. #15  10-23-1984  16 pages;
    ATSF Oklahoma Div. #79  11-28-1948  18 pages;
    ATSF Oklahoma Div. #88  4-25-1954  18 pages; and
    ATSF Southern Kansas Div. #77  4-4-1948  21 pages. Total 159 images of employee timetable pages.
    These employee timetable pages cover all of this territory, so you can see where each location was, with respect to the others. This was a very strategic piece of Railroad, and much of it was still train-order territory up until the Santa Fe did away with train orders entirely, around 1986. The Southern Kansas Division was absorbed into the Oklahoma Division, which in turn was absorbed into the Eastern and Middle Divisions. This left a well-run trackage configuration network all under the Eastern Division Superintendent, whose office was located in Emporia, Kansas until after train orders were discontinued in 1986.
    Everything from the Super C to the Super Chief ran over this Division. Every Santa Fe passenger train with transcontinental implications, ran either on the Second District through Ottawa, or the First District through Topeka. Many examples of complete sets of train orders issued to these trains are included here, including a few to the Super C. There is also a good sampling of orders on the Third District issued to trains 47, 48, 211, and 212, the Oil Flyer and the Tulsan, respectively. The Third District and Fourth District were ran on train order authority until 1986 when train orders were discontinued. The only first-class train service on the 4th District in modern times, was a Doodlebug, Trains 13 and 14, that basically ran from Winfield to Coffeyville.
    There are 88 different train-order locations represented here, some overlapping on multiple Districts, with at least one train order image from each one. Ages of the orders range from 1891 to 1986, the last year of train orders on the Santa Fe.
    The 12 pictures shown are just a sampling of the quantity and variety of locations, engine numbers (some steam) and other operations unique to this very well-traveled  piece of Railroad.
    The orders in this CD show many track conditions, operating procedures, and many meets and flag orders, all consistent with train-order operation. This is some of the best Railroad reading anywhere.
    Very nice items that are obsolete and no longer used by any Railroad.
