    Description

    Here's a genuine 1966
    ROLLING STONES
    stub
from October 6th 1966 at the Odeon Theatre in Manchester, England.
This was when things were really starting to take off for The Stones.  They were now solid headliners with strong acts supporting them.  On this tour, Ike & Tina Turner and the Yardbirds were the big acts opening the show.  This was when the Yardbirds not only consisted of Jeff Beck, but also Jimmy Page was now with the group. This was a brief period that only lasted about one year and is also the earliest Jimmy Page or Jeff Beck stub you can possibly find, anywhere.  I believe this was still when Jimmy Page was playing the bass for the band as early on when he had decided to join the band, their bass player had just quit.  He actually played the bass for a little while until they picked up a bass player and the band then had two guitarists.  That period didn't last long either as Jeff Beck left the group by the end of 1966 and Jimmy stayed on until 1968.
This stub shows some creasing, rust stains and pin holes from thumb tacks at each corner.   Otherwise still in pretty nice shape with no writing or tape.
Here is an example of the flyer from the next day on October 7th, 1966.
