As the smallest member in a line of commercial grade, NSF approved machines, the Oscar’s modest appearance belies the full extent of its capabilities.The Oscar’s is housed in matte black plastic with a traditional steam knob and plastic brew and power buttons. The water reservoir can be accessed through the top of the machine and holds up to 2.3 liters of water. This particular version of the Oscar can also be directly plumbed into a water line should you choose to do so. For greater cup clearance the drip tray can be removed, also it holds up to 1 liter of water before needing to be emptied. When you get under the hood though you’ll see why the Oscar truly shines. Many of the same commercial components found in Nuova Simonelli’s commercial machines have been used in the Oscar as well. It’s worth noting that the water system inside the Oscar is almost exclusively copper, including the 2.5 liter heat exchange boiler. For frothing milk the machine is equipped with a four-hole commercial style steam wand. Thanks to the heat exchange boiler you’ll be able to brew and steam simultaneously, cutting down on drink preparation time.
