    Final Official Railway Guide with operational listings for:  Penn Central, Erie Lackawanna, Central of New Jersey, Lehigh Valley, Reading, Ann Arbor and Lehigh and Hudson River.
    The bankrupt lines were folded into Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail) u
    nder the Regional Rail Reorganization Act of 1974.  Conrail began operations on April 1, 1976.
    In 1997,
    CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern Railway agreed to acquire the Conrail system and split it into two roughly-equal parts (with three residual shared-assets areas).
    This edition includes passenger timetables for Amtrak, Southern, Rock Island, Rio Grande, Canadian National and CP Rail.  Starting later in 1974, passenger and freight listings were published in two separate Official Railway Guide editions.
