Description

This listing is for a really old and rare field wash basin that I think is made out of enamel with a ceramic or painted coating. Notice it has one corner that sticks out like a spout to drain fluids. This basin measures 9 1/2 (L) X 7 (W) X 1 1/2 inches tall. The basin was found in a huge box of antique medical supplies at the estate of a doctor in MA. The doctor's father was also a doctor. This basin was probably used in the early 1900s or maybe during one of the world wars. There were celluloid scalpels, metal forceps and military lighters in the basin when found. This leads me to believe that the items were used in the military by a field doctor. The basin is in fair, antique condition with stains and crazing as pictured. From a smoke free home. Please see my other listings for doctor supplies that are antique or vintage. Thank you!
