    Description

In very good condition. This is a Top-Quality CD of 268 Missouri Pacific Railroad train order images, covering the Mopac secondary line between Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Diaz, Arkansas. Included is one station list, showing each location and the number of orders copied at that location. Also included are four timetable pages that cover all of this territory, so you can see where each location was, with respect to the others. This was a very strategic piece of Railroad, and was train-order territory when the Missouri Pacific was merged out of existence on January 1, 1986. Dates of the orders range from 1924 to 1986. the year 1985 was Mopac's last year of operation.
The orders from 1986 (30 of them) are actually Union Pacific orders copied on Mopac forms. All are from Carthage, Missouri. These are coded in the dialog box with UP in front of the station name of Carthage. As information, effective January 1, 1986, when UP took over, all engine numbers had some Railroad's initials in front of them. On all others, if the lead unit was a Mopac unit, there was no initial in front of the number. Foreign power to the Mopac still was shown by their respective initials. After the merger date of January 1, 1986, the UPRR elected to denote all engines with an initial when mentioned in any train order.
As an extra note, train orders on this line disappeared entirely in late 1986 or early 1987. The UP orders from Carthage above mentioned, are some of the last train orders issued on this line, before track warrants and track bulletins took over.
This CD also includes branch-line operation on the Springfield Branch between Crane and Springfield, Missouri. The Mopac had a connection with the Frisco Railroad at Springfield.
All of this trackage used to be called the White River Division. The three main subdivisions were the Pleasant Hill Sub, the Carthage Sub, and the Cotter Sub, in addition to the aforementioned branch line to Springfield. In later years before the MP merged out of existence, they ran 10 to 12 trains daily on this line. A lot of foreign power ran over this line as well, as reflected in the orders.
The 12 pictures shown are just a sampling of the quantity and variety of locations, engine numbers, and other operations unique to this long piece of Railroad.
This CD shows many operators' names, track conditions, operating procedures, and all kinds of meets and flag orders, all consistent with train-order operation. This is some of the best Railroad reading anywhere.
Very nice items that are obsolete and no longer used by any Railroad.
