    Description

Offered is this antique letter from the United States Railroad Administration, the federal agency created to run the nation's railroads during World War I. It was in existence for only a short time, between Dec. 1917 and March, 1920, making this an uncommon find. The typewritten letter is on thin, onionskin paper. It is addressed to someone in the Southern Railway System. There is a handwritten note on the bottom.
The document is approx. 11" x 8 1/2". It is in good condition for its age and paper type. There are no major tears, but there are a few small edge tears and some pinholes as well as some creases and a fold line. There are a few small spots but everything is readable.
